A company or platform gains privileged access to users, demand, workflow, or the route to market.
5. Profit Migration
Economic value moves from the old stack to a new layer, often before incumbent revenue visibly collapses.
6. Incumbent Hesitation
Existing leaders delay because the new model threatens their economics, organization, or identity.
7. Capital Flood
Capital recognizes the shift and finances rapid scaling. At this stage the change becomes harder to dismiss, but the best positions may already be forming.
What the framework is for
Blueshift is designed for investors, executives, founders, strategists, and policymakers who need to distinguish structural change from noise. A single signal can be interesting. Several signals moving together can indicate that a platform is changing underneath an industry.
The framework is binary by design: each signal is evaluated as present or absent, producing a seven-signal read that forces explicit judgment instead of vague trend language.
Why it matters in AI
AI is simultaneously changing the interface, collapsing the cost of intelligence, pulling developers toward new platforms, and forcing profit to migrate across the technology stack.
That makes AI a useful real-time test of the Blueshift framework. The critical question is not whether AI matters. It is which layer gains control as models, compute, distribution, agents, applications, and end-user interfaces compete for leverage.
