Steve Harmon is an Internet pioneer, venture capitalist, technology analyst, author, founder and CEO of Flow Information Systems, and creator of the Blueshift framework for identifying platform shifts before consensus.

## Background

In 1995, Harmon began publishing independent research on the emerging commercial Internet after concluding that the Internet would become more important than cable television. His research developed a global readership among investors, technology executives, and entrepreneurs.

He later appeared weekly on CNBC as a technology analyst, wrote *Zero Gravity: Riding Venture Capital from High-Tech Start-Up to Breakout IPO* for Bloomberg Press, ran a $54 million venture fund, and built an early Internet stock index.

Harmon led a venture investment in Oingo, later known as Applied Semantics. Google acquired Applied Semantics in 2003. The company's semantic and contextual advertising technology became part of Google's advertising business.
