# Steve Harmon

> Steve Harmon is an Internet pioneer, venture capitalist, technology analyst, author, founder and CEO of Flow Information Systems, and creator of the Blueshift framework.

## Biography

Steve Harmon began publishing independent Internet research in the mid-1990s, when the commercial Internet was still widely treated as speculative. His work tracked the browser, Internet companies, online business models, and the migration of economic value to the web.

He later ran a $54 million venture fund and led the venture investment in Oingo, later Applied Semantics. Oingo developed meaning-based search and contextual advertising technology and launched a product called AdSense. Google acquired Applied Semantics in 2003.

Harmon has analyzed technology and markets across the commercial Internet, search, e-commerce, mobile, cloud, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence. He appeared weekly on CNBC as a technology analyst for more than a year and has spoken at Stanford, UC Berkeley, ad:tech, Internet World, and the New York Society of Security Analysts.
